TechRoll Portfolio Site

While interning at A+E Networks, during the summer of 2016, I built and designed a portfolio site for the TechRoll Team. This team is located within the IT department and is responsible for corporate communications via email as well as design and development of internal company systems. The site is a central location for external professionals to view the work that the group has completed.

Prior to creating the site UX best practices were used for research and to craft sitemaps, flow charts as well as wire frames. Prior to creating any of type of graphic, extensive research was conducted by browsing other company portfolio sites. During research and site browsing, I payed specific attention to what types of formats, navigation bar items and even images were used on other company’s sites. Additionally, I constantly spoke with members of the TechRoll team in order to gain insight into the specific ideas that they wanted highlighted and captured with this site. Once research was complete then planning of site placement went underway.

Prior to the final product and charts that can be seen below, there were many iterations that took place. The final site design was a multi-page site however, it began as a single page site. This is one of the many decisions that was changed post completion of research.

user-flow

This is the user flow of how a site visitor can access the page. It exhausts the possibilities of options they have when navigating around the page. It shows the process of entry for a user.

sitemap

This sitemap indicates the layout of the site as well as what types of formats each page has. It indicates which pages are linked to what.

Wireframes were created for all three devices. The program Sketch was used for some designs.

More wireframes can be found below.
